Travel between the Philippines and the U.S. Midwest is about to become much easier.

Philippine Airlines has announced a brand-new nonstop route between Manila and Chicago, marking the first direct flight connecting the Philippines to the American Midwest.

The new service will begin November 9, 2026, giving travelers a faster and more convenient way to reach the Philippines without needing to connect through the West Coast.

For many Filipino families in the Midwest, this route will make visiting home significantly easier.

Manila to Chicago Nonstop Flights

The new service will operate three times per week between Manila and Chicago.

Flights will operate on:

• Monday

• Wednesday

• Friday

Passengers departing Manila will arrive the same afternoon at O'Hare International Airport (ORD).

Return flights from Chicago will depart in the evening and arrive in Manila early the following morning.

This schedule allows travelers to leave Chicago after work and arrive in the Philippines the next morning, making the journey much more convenient.

Philippine Airlines Expands Its U.S. Network

With Chicago added to the map, Philippine Airlines now serves eight destinations across the United States and its territories, including:

• Los Angeles

• San Francisco

• Seattle

• New York City

• Honolulu

• Guam

• Saipan

Adding Chicago further strengthens PAL’s network between the Philippines and North America and provides much easier access for travelers across the Midwest region.

Aircraft and Onboard Experience

The Manila–Chicago route will be operated using the Airbus A350-900, Philippine Airlines’ flagship long-haul aircraft.

Passengers can expect a full-service international travel experience that includes:

• Full-service onboard dining

• Generous baggage allowance

• Comfortable long-haul cabin design

• Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class options

The A350 is designed for long flights, offering improved cabin comfort and quieter travel compared to older aircraft.

Introductory Fare Sale

To celebrate the launch of the new route, Philippine Airlines is offering introductory economy base fares starting at $667 roundtrip.

After taxes and fees, total fares currently start at approximately $1,151 roundtrip, depending on travel dates and availability.

These promotional fares are available for bookings made between April 16 and May 31, 2026, though seats at the lowest price are expected to be limited.

Why This Route Matters

For Filipino communities across the Midwest, this new route will make travel to the Philippines significantly easier.

Instead of connecting through West Coast cities like Los Angeles or San Francisco, travelers will now be able to fly directly from Chicago to Manila.

This means:

• Fewer connections

• Faster overall travel times

• Easier visits with family in the Philippines

Chicago is also one of the largest aviation hubs in the United States, making it convenient for travelers from other Midwest cities to connect through O’Hare International Airport.
