Do I need a Visa to travel to the Philippines?
The short answer is NO, YOU DO NOT NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL TO THE PHILIPPINES.
We get asked this question A LOT since President Duterte’s statements back in October 2016 about his desire to require a visa for Americans traveling to the Philippines.
Changing laws between nations take some time and there has not been any official action towards changing the visa laws. As of today, January 16th, 2017, visa laws have not been changed between the United States and the Philippines. US Citizens may travel to the Philippines, visa free for up to 30 days as long as their US Passports are valid for 6 months beyond their intended stay in the Philippines.
Your trip beyond 30 days will require a visa. If you are in doubt, ask your travel agent, the Philippine Embassy or Consulate Office in the United States, or the State Department.
